Her commitment to entrepreneurship is grounded in helping others better understand business development, financial planning, fiscal responsibility, and the foundational principles necessary to build and sustain successful ventures.
With a Doctorate in Accounting, Master of Business Administration, and Bachelor of Business Administration, Dr. Speed combines a strong academic foundation with extensive real-world experience. She is passionate about using that knowledge to equip others with practical tools and strategies they can apply to their personal and professional goals.
Her commitment to entrepreneurship also inspired her to author Blueprints to Unleash Your Entrepreneurship, a resource created to guide and encourage aspiring entrepreneurs as they identify their skills, passions, and God-given talents and discover how those gifts can be transformed into meaningful business opportunities.
Beyond entrepreneurship, Dr. Speed serves as a college professor, sharing her knowledge with undergraduate and graduate students in courses including Accounting Information Systems and Financial Management. She also brings years of corporate leadership experience to her work, having served as a Lead Product Owner within the communications and automotive services industry.
While Dr. Speed is proud of her professional accomplishments, one of the greatest inspirations behind her work is her son, Josiah, affectionately known as JoJo.
When JoJo was just one year old, Dr. Speed began creating children’s books inspired by him. What began as a mother’s desire to create meaningful stories for her son grew into JoJo the CEO™, a children’s book brand that uses relatable stories and learning experiences to introduce young readers to important lessons about entrepreneurship, financial literacy, education, kindness, confidence, responsibility, and leadership.
As JoJo has grown, the stories have grown with him, allowing Dr. Speed to continue creating meaningful content that encourages children to learn, dream, make positive choices, and recognize their ability to lead.
Dr. Speed is also the Founder of the JC Foundation, established from her desire to make a meaningful and lasting difference in the lives of children. The Foundation’s work reflects her commitment to helping young people grow in character, confidence, kindness, responsibility, and purpose through education, resources, experiences, and community engagement.
Through the Foundation, her children’s books, and the continued development of JoJo the CEO™, Dr. Speed hopes to create opportunities that not only help children learn, but also encourage them to think differently about themselves, their choices, and the way they treat others.
